Emotional Roller Coaster & A Makeover

After reading my previous post, you may think that I'm an emotional roller coaster.  Why? Well, because today I am on the opposite side of the spectrum and am over the moon about this coming year.

A few things may have contributed to this 'tude change:

a. Wonderful and thoughtful comments from dear friends.
b. A phone call with my momma.
c. A tough personal decision I made last night, that made me feel like an empowered woman.

Also, the sun is shining, and that always is a good thing.

On another note, as I've been pondering I've been thinking about giving myself a top to bottom makeover.  This is not a good time to do this, as I need to save, save, save!  However, what better time to look & feel your best than right before your wedding?  Yep, it's happening.

Here are some recent finds that have gotten me excited to get this thing going, as well as some of my beauty products that I will never stray from.

Andrea, Almay, Wet n Wild, L'Oreal

ShopStyle

The most important thing to me is making sure that my skin looks good. I used to have really bad acne on my cheeks, and still have some remaining scarring and bumps, so I need that COVERED. I love, love, LOVE L'Oreal's foundation.  I use their True Match foundation mixed with a tiny bit of moisturizer to give me a good color and enough moisture to not dry out.  I get really dry skin very easily, especially during the winter.

I also use their compact makeup two shades darker as a bronzer.  Lately, I haven't been bronzing quite as much, just along the forehead and the sides of my nose.  I use this powder foundation instead of a bronzer because I hate feeling like a vamp from the Twilight series.  No glittery face here, please!

The blush I use and will ALWAYS use, is Wet N Wild's Icon Blush in Pearlescent Pink. It's perfect for my skin.  I've been going a little heavier with the blush lately, and Trevor is always commenting on how he loves the way I've been doing my makeup.  It makes me feel glamorous.

As far as eyes go, I will always apply my eyeshadow first.  I like to put the darker color into the crease first, then apply a more neutral color to the rest of the lid.  I know that's backwards from how most people do it, but I find it easier to blend that way with my lack of skills.  This pallet is one I am planning on buying, but I do have an Almay pallet right now and I really like how it goes on.  Use E.L.F.'s lid primer ($1 at Target), and you will be set.

Liquid liner, please!  Currently I think I am using some Maybelline liquid liner, but I'm going to be purchasing the Almay liner pen in black.  I used to use it, and regret switching.  It's the best, and the tip is pretty stiff so you'll have more control.

Lastly, I will usually throw on some natural looking falsies on the weekends.  If you put your eyeliner on first, then get them close enough to your lashline, nobody will even notice they were $3 lashes from Walmart.

I would have added a mascara, but to be honest, most mascaras work fine for me.  I'm currently using Maybelline's Colossal Lash mascara, but I'm always just buying whatever's on sale.

And that, my friends, is my daily makeup routine.  It probably doesn't mean much to you, because I don't have too many personal photos on the blog at the moment, but I feel like that's a good start to my makeover motivation.

Holiday Shopping for Men

Has anyone else started their Christmas Shopping yet?

It seems like as soon as October hits (yes, October), my brain is in Christmas shopping mode.  In fact, I think I've practically got all my shopping done for Trevor already.  It's a good feeling, but I'm still always scouting for any great products he could possibly want.

I know often times it can be difficult to shop for your man.  I find myself being frustrated because I never know how to surprise him.  He always knows everything I'm getting him, and even if I try to smoothly come up with ideas, it usually goes like this:

Becs: "Hey babe, don't you have a phone upgrade coming up?  Are you gonna get the iPhone 5?"

Trev: "Yeah, probably.  Why? Are you thinking of getting me a new case for Christmas?"

FAIL

I'm incredibly obvious.  That being said, I wanted to share are a few sites I've stumbled across to help with the tedious task of man-shopping.

This Christmas you'll get to do a lot more of this:

Christmas Kiss

... and a lot less of this:

Sad Crying Girl

Here are the three sites that have been the most helpful to me this year while shopping for Trev.

For the skate/snowboarding, music loving, school attending, trendy man in your life.  This website consistently has the best deals on some great brands like Skull Candy, Dakine, Quiksilver, and many more.  I love this site and constantly monitor it.  They have a regular SUPER deal that changes every 10-30 minutes, and also a "private stash" for members only.  I would highly suggest becoming a member for extra awesome daily deals.

Trev is a watch junkie.  He loves watches, specifically expensive watches. I decided to get one for him for Christmas, but knew it would be a little more pricey.  Then a coworker told me about World Of Watches, and I found the exact watch I wanted to get him for half the price.
Becca - 1 | Invicta Watch - 0

eBay, eBay, eBay.  I actually have had some bad experiences with them as a seller, but as a buyer, I'm completely smitten.  I like to check on their Daily Deals.  You can find them here.  They have regular Daily Deal section (which are usually the best value), and also sections for Tech, Fashion, & Home.  I bought all the gifts for my family on eBay's Daily Deals last year.  LOVE. THEM.

What sites will you be using this year?  We women need to band together!

How to be a Bargain Babe

I was a bargain rock star this weekend, you guys.

Good As Gold Blog, Forever 21 Haul
**Please forgive my low-quality iPhone photo... but I'm wearing items from my most recent F21 haul (more on that later)**

You probably all have had at least one experience like this in your lifetime.  You get your paycheck, and you allow yourself $100 to treat yourself to the fancy pair of jeans you have had your eye on at Express.  So, you go to the store, and they are having a BUY ONE GET ONE 1/2 OFF SALE!

Say what?!?!

Naturally, you have to get two pairs of pants.  Then, your boyfriend whips out a coupon for $30 off a $100 purchase.  BUT, you have a $100 budget.  So then, you naturally have to buy two scarves, because the coupon ALSO says you get $50 off of $150 which equals $100 and you are truly feeling great.

(Insert Trevor smirking at my lack of self control here.)

So - you walk out of there like you own the place, along with two pairs of jeans and two scarves - all for the great price of 130 buckaroos.

**The scarves were a little more than you thought and then you have to add in tax.
Because, hello, your coupon doesn't work on the government.

You go girl!

Zulily Finds | A Wannabe Fashionista on a Budget

Have any of you heard of Zulily before?

This is completely new to me.  I received an email from one of my favorite people, my cousin Christina, inviting me to join this site called Zulily.  I joined not really thinking much of it, because it advertised itself as a site for babies and mom's. To my pleasant surprise, though, I found some AMAZING stuff at some AMAZING deals.

I am now eagerly awaiting my first purchases, and plan on purchasing from them again... and again

...and again.

Here are my three finds from this first experience. I had so many things in my shopping cart but didn't want to spend all of my remaining money on products there, so I narrowed it down to three.  It was difficult, but here are the results:

FIRST
An orange and fab O'Neill Trailblazer Hobo Bag. {$22.99 - Originally $46}

ONeill Hobo Bag Fashion Blog Good As Gold
 NEXT
In honor of Halloween a Raj Imports Orange & White Skull Print Scarf. {$15.99 - Originally $50} I'm dying to get this in the mail. Pun fully intended.

Zulily Raj Imports Skull Scarf Good As Gold Blog

And FINALLY
A Raj Imports Turquoise & White Skull Head Wrap {$5.99 - Originally $12}

zulily Raj Imports Head wrap

I did also score a free 8X8 photo book from Shutterfly just for having a Zulily account.

As you can see, this site is extremely useful and helpful for fashionistas on a budget - even for your little ones as well.

If that's not cool, I don't know what is!

To create your own Zulily account, click here to sign up and begin shopping - but do your best to not spend your whole paycheck or dip into your savings.  It's tempting, I know, but resistance is key my friends!

Life too Complicated? (Life Lessons with B)

I'm not one for beating around the bush.

In fact, I probably should be a little more tactful at times with the way I approach things.

But when it comes to telling someone you miss, love, or need to resolve conflict, there's no point in holding it in. I've learned this the hard way, and have seen loved ones go down a path of loneliness because they complicated life.

Why? I'm not sure.

I think that speaking your mind in the right setting & tone is very refreshing & necessary. It took me awhile to figure this out, but as I came to the realization that I wanted to be a more authentic person, the change was immediate. It was easy for me to find a better way to communicate, which led to more happiness instead of more stress.

Readers, what do you think? Is it always better to speak your mind?

I can hardly contain my excitement!!

BECAUSE.

I won this giveaway! Steoffrey Language is a blog I have been following for quite some time, and I seriously just LOVE Stacie (even though we've never met, I think she's the most wonderful person ever).

What exactly did I win? An amazing day spent with personal stylist, Bronwyn (from The Lion, The Witch, & My Wardrobe).

That's her -------->

I lost it at work when I found out I won. I probably overreacted a bit... jumping up and down & squealing... but my reaction matched my excitement!

Giveaway Announcement!

I'm SO EXCITED.

Excited Lady

That's right! I'm going to be doing a giveaway to get things started the right way here on my blog!

I will be putting together a goodie bag with some of my favorite stuff to giveaway once I have 50 followers!! This bag could include beauty products, treats, accessories, gift cards, etc. etc. I'm not going to skimp out on this, either. I am fairly certain there will be at least $50 worth of product in this gift in honor of my 50 followers.

Can I get a "Woop Woop?!"

So. This is pretty simple, basically when I reach 50 followers, you will all get one entry. I will then use a random number generator to select a winner. . .

Continue following & commenting, and encourage others to do so as well so I can continue doing things like this on my blog!! I would really like to regularly be doing giveaways, so follow away! :)

The Best Of Fashion Accessories: La Mer Watches

I usually don't wear jewelry. I'm not a huge fan of necklaces, always forget to wear earrings, and usually end up taking off rings as the day progresses. I do, however, love to wear anything on my wrist. I love cuffs, watches, bracelets, ribbons, etc. It gets to the point where if I'm not wearing something on my wrist, I feel like part of me is missing. . . especially after Trev got me the La Mer Watch I've had my eye on for the past 2 years.

(I seriously had the best Christmas ever.)

I thought that today I would share a few of my most favorite watches from the La Mer Collection, all of which are on my wish list for years to come.

La Mer Watch OnyxOnyx La Mer found Here

These watches definitely are one of those decadent purchases, not necessarily for fashion on a budget. It's nice, though, because once you buy one, you won't have to buy any other wrist accessory ever again.

How's
that for being frugal?
